B-12 (Methylcobalamin) is more active and better absorbed than other forms of B-12 such as cyanocobalamin. Methylcobalamin has been shown to protect nerve tissue and brain cells as well as promote better sleep patterns. Methylcobalamin has also been shown to reduce homocysteine levels and promote normal eye function. Folic Acid along with B-12, is required for synthesis of DNA. In addition, Folic Acid helps the body form red blood cells. Scientific evidence suggests that Folic Acid may reduce the risks of spinal cord and birth defects, making it very important for women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
