Nicotinamide is a water-soluble amide of nicotinic acid. It is a form of vitamin B-3 that occurs in trace amounts mainly in meat, fish, nuts and mushrooms, as well as to a lesser extent in some vegetables. It is an essential member of the B-vitamin family and it does not cause a niacin flush. Nicotinamide and Niacin are two different forms of vitamin B-3.
